Our Photography Competition for the first HIFF


The first Hebrides International Film Festival took place from 22nd- 27th September 2014 as part of the new Hebtember initiative.  With the outstanding line-up of International and Scottish environmental feature films, and documentaries, the Festival aimed to inspire, entertain and inform Western Isles audiences on international actions and issues on environmental change.

The Photo Competition was open to all (amateur or pro) and entrants could submit a series of 3 photographs in the theme of ‘The Environment of the Hebrides; what matters to you’. A panel of judges selecte a shortlist of fifteen entrants and these were then judgedede the week prior to the festival.

The shortlisted photos were exhibited in the HIFF exhibition place throughout the week of the festival, and the winner was awarded a £50 token redeemable at Jessops and a HIFF Festival Pass.
